Premier League Darts: Updates from Night Nine in Manchester as Gerwyn Price wins and Luke Littler and Gian van Veen have heated clash

Konate 'closer than ever' to new Liverpool deal

Ibrahima Konate is on the verge of signing a new Liverpool contract, according to French outlet L'Equipe, with only "a few details left to iron out" over an agreement.

The 26-year-old's existing deal at Anfield is set to expire this summer, while head coach Arne Slot told Your Site News in February that discussions were ongoing over an extension.

Now L'Equipe says the club and player have "never been closer" to agreeing his stay, and adds Konate wants a decision made "in the coming weeks" so his future is decided before the World Cup starts in June.

Man Utd plan clear out to sign Anderson

Manchester United plan to part ways with eight players in order to seal a blockbuster Elliot Anderson transfer this summer, reports The Sun.

Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford will all be sold, the paper claims, with Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia departing as free agents.

Barca & Juve still keen on summer move for Silva

Barcelona and Juventus remain among the clubs who want to sign Bernardo Silva on a free transfer this summer.

Both clubs have long-term admiration for the Portugal star, who City assistant Pep Lijnders has confirmed will leave when his contract expires.

Barca and Juve are not the only clubs, however, and Silva is not thought to have made a final decision yet on his next club.

The 31-year-old has long been linked with moves to either Saudi Arabia or MLS.

Vuskovic hints at Spurs return

Luka Vuskovic has hinted at a Tottenham return next season despite attracting interest with his form at Bundesliga loan club Hamburg.

The 19-year-old centre-back has netted five times in 25 league appearances for the club, but in an interview with German outlet Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung suggested he will be back in north London next season.

"In football, you never know, Vuskovic said.

It could happen next year, or in ten years. I don't want to promise anyone anything.

After this season, I'll be a Tottenham player again. I have a contract there until 2030."

Ljinders pays tribute to departing Silva

Man City assistant manager Pep Lijnders paid tribute to Bernardo Silva in confirming the midfielder will leave the club at the end of the season following their  on Saturday.

"You never replace a player with the same kind of player, because they don't exist. Bernardo Silva is unique," said Lijnders, who was filling in for Pep Guardiola due to the manager serving a touchline suspension.

The Dutchman added: "The way he controls games, the way he moves, the way he receives, the way he leads, the way he sees the solutions, all these things.

"You never search for a replacement of one type of player, you search for what is needed to grow with the team and somebody who can fit in the first XI.

"And then you hope with our academy, with the young players we already bought, that they can make that step as well in the midfield positions. But if you see our young boys in the academy, they have to make that step and to grow.

"But the most important is that the seniors will stay for a long time, that they stay, that the core is there and around that you can move.

"But it will be hard, because as I said, in the game, when he's not playing, you will see how he's missed. And that's one game. Imagine a season?

"But every good story comes to an end.

"I hope he enjoys the last months, it is only six weeks, and he has a good farewell and he deserves all that attention as well."

Romero's father reveals release clause

Cristiano Romero has a release clause in the region of 38m-53m behind his potential exit from Tottenham this summer, according to his father - as per the Daily Mail.

The paper quotes his dad Victor telling outlet Cadena 3: "The English club won't let him leave for free; it's between $50-70m [37.8m-53m]."

Silva to leave Man City at end of season

Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva will leave the club at the end of the season.

The Portugal international, 31, has won six Premier League titles and one Champions League during his nine seasons with City but will depart when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Speaking in the press conference after  on Saturday, assistant manager Pep Lijnders confirmed that "every good story comes to an end" and acknowledged that it will not be possible for the club to replace their skipper.

"You never replace a player with the same kind of player, because they don't exist. Bernardo Silva is unique," said Lijnders, who was filling in for Pep Guardiola due to the manager serving a touchline suspension.

"I hope he enjoys the last months, it is only six weeks, and he has a good farewell and he deserves all that attention as well."

Hurzeler 'totally committed' to Brighton despite Leverkusen links

Fabian Hurzeler says he is "totally committed" to Brighton amid rumours linking him with a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Reports have claimed the German side are interested in replacing current boss Kasper Hjulmand with Hurzeler this summer.

But the German told Your Site: "It's always an honour to be linked with these kinds of rumours, but I'm really happy here at Brighton.

"I'm very thankful for the trust and support the club gives me. We are focused on a strong finish to the season.

"I'm definitely totally committed. There are no other thoughts. In football, there is not always this loyalty and support from a club.

"I really feel trusted and welcomed here. I can express myself and be successful here.

"There are so many things to play for until the end of the season. That's my only focus."
